(1) It shall be unlawful to do an act within the definition of an Alarm Company without obtaining a state license issued from the Alarm System Security and Licensing Board, pursuant to Section 58-65-301 et seq, Utah Code, as amended. In addition, when Provo City is the principal place of business for said company, it shall be unlawful for said Alarm Company to operate within Provo City without a business license therefor from Provo City.

(2) A business license to operate an alarm company may be obtained by doing the following:

(a) submit an application therefor and give the information reasonably required (on a form approved by Provo City) to the Provo City licensing clerk, and

(b) pay an application fee as shown on the Consolidated Fee Schedule adopted by the Municipal Council.

(3) The application shall be approved unless for good cause the application is disapproved by the Chief of Police because of prior violations of this Chapter 6.17, Provo City Code or for any other good cause reasonably related to the safety of Provo City police officers or residents of Provo City.

(4) The annual fee for a business license to operate an alarm company having its principal place of business within Provo City shall be as shown on the Consolidated Fee Schedule adopted by the Municipal Council.
