(1) An alarm user shall pay to Provo City a fee as shown on the Consolidated Fee Schedule adopted by the Municipal Council, for each time more than three (3) per calendar year, for a response by a Provo City police officer to a false alarm at the premises of the alarm user.

(2) In the event that Provo City police officers respond to more than five (5) false alarms at one (1) location within any period of ninety (90) days, the Chief of Police may require the Alarm User to show cause (related to the safety of Provo City police officers or residents of Provo City) why the Alarm User should not be disconnected from the services of the Alarm Company through which the false alarms have been given. The Chief of Police may order that the Alarm User be disconnected from any or all Alarm Companies if the Alarm User does not demonstrate reasonably sufficient reasons why that action should not be taken.

(3) The Chief of Police may require an Alarm User to show cause why the Alarm User should not be disconnected from the services of an Alarm Company for failure to pay the fees for false alarms described in Subsection (1) of this Section. The Chief of Police may order that the Alarm User be disconnected from the services of an Alarm Company if the Alarm User does not demonstrate reasonably sufficient reasons why that action should not be taken.

(4) It shall be unlawful and the basis for the revocation of an Alarm User’s business license if said User retains or obtains the service of an Alarm Company after notice and in violation of an order issued under this Chapter by the Chief of Police.

(5) For good cause (related to the safety of Provo City police officers or residents of Provo City) the Chief of Police may reinstate an Alarm User that has been ordered disconnected pursuant to the provisions of this Section.
