(1) It shall be unlawful to construct or maintain a cesspool, septic tank or other receptacle or depository for human waste, except that a septic tank may be constructed and maintained if, for reasons demonstrated to the City engineer by the applicant, it is not reasonable or practical to connect to the City sewer system. It shall be presumed that it is both reasonable and practical to connect to a sewer line which is not more than three hundred (300) feet from a proposed residence.

(2) The construction, maintenance, repair, emptying, cleaning or abatement of septic tanks shall conform to the regulations of the Utah County Health Department.

(3) A septic tank may be constructed, maintained, repaired, emptied or cleaned only with a permit from the Utah County Health Department.
